About this audiobook

The highly anticipated follow-up to the New York Times bestseller Beautiful Disaster—now a major motion picture!

Can you love someone too much?

Travis Maddox learned two things from his mother before she died: Love hard. Fight harder.

In Walking Disaster, the life of Travis is full of fast women, underground gambling, and violence. But just when he thinks he is invincible, Abby Abernathy brings him to his knees.

Every story has two sides. In Beautiful Disaster, Abby had her say. Now it’s time to see the story through Travis’s eyes.

Was excited to have the story told from the male perspective but the main char just comes off too unlikeable. He’s every stereotype of the assholeish douche without any redeeming qualities to make up for it. It’s like the inner monologue of a teen boy. Boring

Love this book! It had me feeling a roller coaster of emotions. The author did a great job of wrapping up the ending.

When I found out that there would be a book from Travis' point of view I was ecstatic, and then I became impatient. Now that I have had the pleasure of finally reading Walking Disaster, I can say that it was well worth the wait .

Always, always love a male POV, it gives me feel the full swoon effect and gives me more of an insight of him.

Happy to learn the meaning behind Travis's nick name for Abby. I never much liked the Pigeon nick name, I guess it grew on me after a wile but I was still not in love with it, but now I understand it and can like it just a little more.

I didn't realize how alike Abby and Travis are, they were definitely a dysfunctional pair but for some reason they seem to fit. They bring out the best in each other, she tames his beast enough to make him function like a normal person, and he gives her that little bit of bad boy she seems drawn to, in small doses.

I've always wanted to know what happened after Abby's and Travis' eloping and Jamie did not disappoint. She not only showed how their friends and family reacted to their spur of the moment decision, but gave us one of the best and surprising epilogue I've ever read.

Ok, but not as well written as the first. Was nicely laid out from his point of view, which I like reading . However I think I just didn't dig this character much.

I didn't think this was as well written and Beautiful disaster. It was very choppy and if you had not read the first book you would have been very lost. But it was worth reading to get Travis's side of things plus the last chapter jumped 11 years into the future to give us a glimpse of what happened .

I usually don’t like the same book in different point of views but this was SO good, from the prolog that made me cry to the epilogue that was so damn well written. SO GOOD

I actually enjoyed reading this book from Trevor's point of view.

And unlike Todd's After series this one is sweeter and less abusive. There are still red flags but I think this relationship is certainly less volatile.

This series was recommended to me after finishing Todd's series.

Yeah, no. I tried. I gave it the old "college" try. (See what I did there? Funnier than anything in the book so far.) I just cannot like this character from his point of view, and all the flaws and issues of the first book are magnified in this one. I have better things to do than rehash this story. Maybe if I had read it at the same time or right after the first, but I just cannot get into the characters anymore.

I love this series, and I ADORE Dan Bittner's performance of Travis' perspective. He really captures the intensity we would expect of a Maddox brother, and a lot of that great sense of humor as well. I'll be listening to this one again and again!

disappointing compared to the Beautiful Disaster book. I think these two should have somehow been intertwined. Maybe because I knew how the story would unfold I didn't find this a good or interesting read. It didn't ring with the same authenticity as Beautiful Disaster. Would definitely read more by the author though.

Travis, a bad boy (tough, fighter, tattooed) meets Abby, a good girl (no swearing, no drinking)

Travis is a very hot, charming womanizer who instantly becomes captivated by Abby. Abby is also instantly captivated by Travis, no matter how hard she tries not to be.

He makes a deal with her and if he wins she has to live with him for a month.

Same story, only different. A definite page turner for me, but I got sick of Travis's childishness, his possessive and controlling behaviour, and I got sick of Abby's games, too.

I loved this just as much as I did Beautiful Disaster. It was cool to see Travis's side of things and a little more of his family. And I loved the epilogue...a perfect ending!

Oh my! What can I say about Travis!?! If I didn't love him already, I sure do now.... Not that I didn't love him though! I was always rooting for him!
He about ripped my heart out with his love for Pigeon and her reluctance to love him back!
I thought for sure since I already knew the story from Beautiful Disaster, but what I got was a totally different look at the story from a heartbreaking and earth-shattering point of view!
There wasn't much I didn't like about this book.... I can say I was a little disappointed on details. We got a lot of details on big events before, but none here. I would have liked more on his thoughts at times like his fights and a little more on the fire scene! A lot of things just got skipped over and mentioned as an afterthought.
Now, the epilogue.... I am HOPING this means that we WILL be seeing some more of Travis and Pigeon soon! Jamie McGuire really left us panting and drooling with that ending! So, I am begging for more surrounding the epilogue! I really want to see how that turns out!

After reading Beautiful Disaster, I couldn't wait to read this. When I finally got it, I started reading it right away. It was great, understanding why Travis did the things he did, but while I was reading in his point of view, Abby really annoyed me. She was so ignorant about their relationship for more than half of the book. It was so frustrating, sometimes, Abby and Travis were finally becoming closer, then Abby would pull away again, or some other problem would arise to pull them apart. I did enjoy reading about the parts I didn't get to know about in Beautiful Disaster, like when Travis got the ring, or when Travis's cousin and brother helped him get through the days without Abby. The ending was also a surprize, I got to learn about what happened in the future. I wish Travis' and Abby's story didn't have to end, but it did, and it was a perfect ending. Great book.

I was beyond ecstatic to learn that there is not only a sequel to Beautiful Disaster, but also that it is told from Travis' point of view! I loved this book even more than the first one because Travis appears to be someone who has only one emotion really, and that is anger. But as you delve deeper into the book you can see how Abby truly affects him and you can see the change in him come from the inside out. With the first book, Abby seemed to think that Travis was perhaps rude or mean when he just didn't know how to express his feelings properly. And now we finally get to know what he was thinking and feeling through those encounters.I just love how these two books, although they take place during the same period of time, are still different. I haven't read a series of books like that before, even though there are tons of books that I wish could have done that. Most nowadays just do a short little ebook version of a main character, and that is normally only about one significant incident from the main book. As great as that is, this is just so much better and I think Jamie McGuire proved that even though you already know the story, it changes completely when it's told from a different perspective. However, it's not all the same. You do get different scenes and conversations with different characters because Travis wasn't with Abby all the time, and he did have friends before he met her.The epilogue was just fantastic! I let out an audible "aw" at the end because everything about the epilogue was truly wonderful.

I don't know how far I am into this, probably more than half way, but I have to keep forcing myself to read more. It's just Beautiful Disaster told all over again, with slightly different details since it's Travis' perspective. I'm bored, quite frankly. I hope I get through the rest quickly.

I enjoyed Beautiful Disaster more. If the author didn't want the reader to assume Abby was pregnant at the end of Beautiful Disaster, I think she should have made that correction in Beautiful Disaster. Not in this second book. I was never a fan of the ending of the first book, but I don't see the point in trying to change something that is already there.

I really liked getting inside Travis's head in Walking Disaster but there were a few scenes that I was really looking forward to from his POV that the author left out. That was disappointing.

I was really looking forward to this Book , I so wanted to see Travis’ POV on the whole thing. I was a little disappointed that there was not more to Travis side of things . I had re-read Beautiful Disaster before reading this one , and I felt like I was just reading the same book again but from Travis’ POV , most of it was the same .

Don’t get me wrong I am VERY happy that we got some more of Travis , I just wish it had been a LITTLE BIT More , with more things we did not read about in Beautiful Disaster.

"I know you deserve better than me. You think I don't know that? But if there was any woman made for me...it's you. I'll do whatever I have to do, Pidge. Do you hear me? I'll do anything."

One of the best things about this book was we got to see Travis when he was younger and when he had to say goodbye to his mom. That was great to be able to understand more of why Travis felt and acted like he did.

"One of these days you're going to fall in love, son. Don't settle for just anyone. Choose the girl that doesn't come easy; the one you have to fight for, and then never stop fighting. Never"—she took a deep breath—"stop fighting for what you want. And never"—her eyebrows pulled in—"forget that Mommy loves you. Even if you can't see me." A tear fell down her cheek. "I will always, always love you."

I loved how we got to get to know his Brother’s and dad a little bit more in this book as well .

Dad laughed once and nodded. “And your young lady?”
I shrugged. “She’s not exactly mine, Dad”
    Dad winked. “Yet?”

This book was very good and powerful. I love Travis's point of view I kept finding myself reading this book and a beautiful disaster to compare the two. The beginning with his mother explained so much and that epilogue allowed me to have a taste of the future that I was so excited to read about.

The only confusion I have with this book is that Travis implies that Abby was aware he was recruited but if that is the case then why was he shocked when she knew.

You must read book one to understand walking disaster and I would suggest having beautiful disaster side-by-side with walking disaster so you understand everything because to get his side and her side it's amazing.

I was a little leery about reading any of the brothers books but now I am so excited to see what Trent, Tyler, Thomas, and Taylor are all going to do.

I hope we will hear more about Pidge, Mad Dog, Mare and Shep also in these books.

You did a Fab-tab-ulous job Mrs. McGuire!

NOTE: I received this book from Netgalley.

I don't know why I was expecting to be amazed by this novel. After all it's just a POV re-write of Beautiful Disaster. Now, don't get me wrong, it's not that I didn't like it, it's just there's nothing much new in it.

    *sigh*

    There, I said it.

I guess it's all my fault, having high expectations and all that. But in my opinion, it's either read Beautiful Disaster, or Walking Disaster. Just don't read both. They just overflap most of the time, and it gets sort of boring.

Also, for some reason I really liked Abby's POV better. Most of Travis's alone scenes weren't anything spectacular, though I did enjoy the epilogue. That one was definitely something I hadn't come to expect. Other than this though... same characters, nothing new. And since it isn't a continuation of the series, none of them actually grew to be more mature.

So, I really don't know what to say about this one. I wanted to read it, but now that I have, I'm disappointed. Perhaps Jamie should've just written several short chapters here and there inside Beautiful Disaster, that would be from Travis's POV. It would've worked out much better that way.

Which makes me believe this POV separation had nothing to do with the story and EVERYTHING to do with commercial purposes. Sales are the big boss, right? Or was that readers..?
