- Rating: 5 out of 5 stars5/5Thanks for clarifying that Darwin was not an atheist but he never believed in that God who had anything to do with evolution directly.
- Rating: 3 out of 5 stars3/5A good outline of the subject, but unfortunately lapsing into some rather sweeping statements and becoming just a little too fawning towards the end of the book, loosing what had been a pretty objective coverage.
- Rating: 4 out of 5 stars4/5Good general overview of Darwin, his life and his revolutionary book.
- Rating: 4 out of 5 stars4/5It was good but just as an overview hope to find more on it
- Rating: 5 out of 5 stars5/5Fantastic Book on the Life and works of Darwin!
highly enjoyable and thought provoking!
should be listened to by Everyone! - Rating: 3 out of 5 stars3/5This book has a detailed explanation towards the theory of evolution and the life of Charles Darwin.
- Rating: 3 out of 5 stars3/5This book is fine as far as it goes...but the nutshell quality makes it unsatisfying. It treads what is to me familiar ground very lightly. The first really interesting thing that I remember is the misinformation: Alfred Russel Wallace was not really a naturalist in the same sense as Darwin, he collected specimens for money because he was an adventurous and exceptionally intelligent man with no money or family to speak of.The second is Samuel Butler's remark about natural selection...which I can not find anywhere online. Perhaps it was in a published article or a letter to a friend.
