About this audiobook

The Little Red Hen works hard-all alone-to turn her wheat seed into flour, while the goose gossips, the dog naps, and the cat preens. But when her lazy friends smell the fresh bread baking, they're eager to help her eat it!

In this easy-to-listen rendition, even the youngest listeners will enjoy the classic folktale about the hard work and its tasty reward.

I remember this book and what the characters were saying and this book goes way back into my childhood memories. This is a really good book.

Straightforward story and ending, simple cartoony illustrations, but an interesting beginning: we actually got to meet the housemates and learn what they'd rather be doing than chores.

This is a re-telling of the classic folktale, the Little Red Hen. It's no wonder this story has withstood the test of time as it is both easy for a young reader to catch on to while at the same time remaining fun and interesting. It is repetitive to a point where any young child can easily begin to pick up on certain words and follow along while reading with an adult. Loved the illustrations in this particular version. Highly recommend as a way to teach children about the importance of sharing and helping one another out.

Cute review of this class folktale. Quite appropriate for the younger audience with a more compact storyline.
