Celebrating beauty and planning sustainability are two mantras adopted as slogans and goals to pursue by the Milan Show, which will take place from 7 to 12 June. These are no more embodied than by the project Design with Nature, developed in collaboration with architect Mario Cucinella, which throws a spotlight on the circular economy and reuse, topics that Ville&Casali and the magazine Casa Naturale, both published by Edizioni Morelli, have been focussing on for decades.
And this edition is no exception, featuring as it does a short interview with Cucinella himself, in the Books column, in which the renowned architect explains the complicity between humans and nature, and the quest for a potential “new friendship”. This is followed by the section, in which our readers will discover how briccole - the poles that mark the waterways of the Venetian Lagoon - are reused and turned into pieces of furniture, by Riva 1920 among others. Another example is the renovation project of a house in the hills of Biella, which architect Federico Delrosso has completely modernised and opened up to the surrounding landscape. “Here you live in harmony with nature,” the owner explains. “The house is ideally situated
