McCall's Quilting

BINDING AND BEYOND

It’s an exciting moment as a quilter when you come to the corner of the quilt top, and you flip that binding strip back and forth to make a perfect miter and continue on your way—without having to refer to any notes, book, or video.

Sometimes the best binding is the simplest one—a beautiful color that echoes the patchwork prints or a striking geometric design that adds just the right accent to the solids that make up the quilt top.

Other times the best binding goes beyond elegant miters, straight edges, and coordinated colors.
