In 2019, Katie Allison, a 29-year-old hairdresser with a penchant for group exercise classes, made a decision that would transform her health: she joined a workout app. ‘I’d just opened a hair salon and had less time, so going to the gym wasn’t an option,’ she explains. ‘I got a 30-day free trial of Fiit [fiit.tv], then signed up to the early membership.’ Of course, Katie wasn’t to know a national lockdown was on the horizon, but it did turn out to be a good move. ‘It fitted seamlessly into my life. I could get up before my son Ezra and do a workout,’ she adds. ‘And I’ve never been fitter – I went to a gym class post-lockdown thinking I would struggle, but I found I was more capable than before!’
