One day, my great aunt Sue called. ‘I’d like to invite you to Christmas dinner,’ she said.

‘Um. That’s generous but I don’t want to give you any extra work,’ I replied.

‘Nonsense, Kellie, I’d love to have you,’ she continued. ‘Besides, where else will you go with your mum and dad overseas?’

‘Okay, that sounds lovely,’ I said, sighing.
