GARMIN ALPHA 200i THE NEW DOG TRACKING UNIT

Packed with new features, greater ease of use (and the real kick is the inReach capability) the Alpha 200i is a serious piece of kit that I would not hesitate to recommend to any dog men and women out there.

The Alpha 100 had a capable touchscreen that was heavily recessed into the body in the interests of damage protection – but this made it less easy to use, it accumulated dirt, and the sensitivity left something to be desired – you had to stab firmly at the screen. Using the 200i is like using a modern phone, you can tap easily and even swipe between pages on the flush mounted 3½” screen. This means you simply use the unit better. Now every time I swap collars over to a new dog, I rename them; previously I had them named by collar colour as it was just that little bit extra hassle to rename them.
