At an elite ballet academy, rivalries turn ugly

The competition at Chicago’s Archer School of Ballet is. After the star student suffers a mysterious rooftop fall, streetwise hopeful Neveah (fabulous newcomer Kylie Jefferson, right, with Barton Cowperthwaite) is recruited to fill the spot by the institution’s manipulative head, Madam Dubois ( alum Lauren Holly), in this thriller loosely inspired by the 2015 novel of the same name. Soon, it becomes clear to Neveah that some of her fellow prima ballerinas are not only cutthroat competitors (they all want a role in an upcoming original work being staged by a notorious choreographer) but also prime suspects in the crime.
