Turning 60 could be the perfect excuse to unwrap an envy-inducing handbag or a designer gem, but not for TV star and author Anthea Turner whose milestone birthday is only days away.
“The best presents come from experiences,” she says. “Creating a memory is what keeps you young. I have got to that point in my life where there is not a huge amount that I want. I don’t need handbags, I don’t need a dress, I don’t need a piece of jewellery, I don’t need any of those things.”
Her special day should have been all about making memories as Anthea was set to be in Rome to celebrate her 60th on 25 May with her fiancé, businessman Mark Armstrong.
