In December 2010, while out on a routine training exercise in Long Island, New York, a police officer and his dog stumbled across a burlap sack.
Inside, they discovered the skeletal remains of a woman.
After carrying out a further inspection of the north side of Ocean Parkway, Suffolk County police discovered three more bodies, all stuffed in burlap bags.
No arrests were ever made
They’d been scattered across Long Island’s South Shore, and police knew that they had a serial killer on their hands.
‘Four bodies found in the same location pretty much speaks for itself,’ Police Commissioner Richard Dormer said.
