The play is unique because it combines the work of two writers – Kate O’Brien (now deceased) and Mark O’Flynn from Leura.
The play revolves around Miss Fitson who is an independent, free-thinking teacher and communist, reflecting on her life in pre- and post-war Sydney and her partner Dan, a larrikin plunged reluctantly into war.
Originally Kate O’Brien wrote the monologue “Our Miss Fitson” sometime back. It revolved around a sensitive, intelligent woman in wartime Sydney. The references to
