    The Peaks of the Balkans trail is generally hiked between May and October. During winter, much of the route is impassable due to snow.

    → GETTING THERE & AROUND

    Your choice of flight depends on which country in the Balkans you plan to visit. In Albania, has flights from Mumbai and New Delhi ₹, with is connected to Mumbai and Delhi with a layover in Istanbul ₹ followed by a five-hour onward drive to Vusanje. Kosovos has flights from Mumbai and Delhi with a long layover in Istanbul ₹, which will entail a two-hour drive to Peja, close to Rekë e Allagës. Car hire is available at all locations. Be warned you might need to pay additional insurance if you plan to cross national borders in your vehicle.
