Spiced oats with caramelised pears

500ml oats
1L water
pinch of salt
1 cinnamon stick
2 cardamom pods, crushed
3ml ground ginger
1 star anise
15ml butter
160ml evaporated milk
FOR THE CARAMELISED PEARS
30ml butter60ml brown sugar125ml evaporated milk pinch3 pears, chopped5ml vanilla essence plain yoghurt, to serve
