He’s worked with Baz Luhrmann, Martin Scorsese, Woody Allen, Steven Spielberg and had multiple encounters with Mike Leigh. There was also an Oscar for Iris and now he’s starring as a pre-WW2 bus driver in the Eddie Izzard-scripted Six Minutes To Midnight. But Jim Broadbent, 70, is far too modest to believe he’s one of Britain’s best-loved actors. “C-List national treasure!” he chuckles.
