Fumigants need to be recaptured

In August we presented to the Environmental Protection Authority in Wellington, opposing an application to import ethanedinitrile (EDN) into New Zealand as an alternative to the fumigant methyl bromide, which is used for export logs and timber at New Zealand ports. Methyl bromide is an ozone depletor and neurotoxin, and the government is obliged to use recapture technology for all methyl bromide fumigations by October 2020.
