SA apple production set to increase

In 2016, global apple production was just over 89 million tons, with an average yield of 16,9t/ha (see Graph 1). China, with 44,4 million tons, was the world’s largest producer, followed by the US with 4,6 million tons, Poland with 3,6 million tons, and Turkey with 2,9 million tons.
