At Rupert Sanderson HQ a four Kate month is a good one. However, the exceedingly charming shoe designer’s appeal doesn’t stop at Kates – Winslet, Middleton, Beckinsale and (Cate) Blanchett – he regularly provides footwear for the likes of Julia Roberts, Gemma Chan, Taylor Swift, Adwoa Aboah, Lily James, Olivia Colman… the list literally goes on and on.
“We do well with the A-list celebrities,” he tells us casually when we meet for the second time at his Mayfair boutique. Our first encounter was at model Jade Parfitt’s wedding in Devon earlier this year. They’re good friends and he custom-made her shoes specially for the occasion in the factory he owns in Italy, as you do.
